Beck Building Company is a custom home builder based in Vail, Colorado with a 50-year track record for building some of the finest homes throughout the Rocky Mountains. Tandem was retained to design an elegant brand identity highlighting the exceptional craftsmanship of a Beck Home. The ensuing branding work played out in all media, including brand messaging, packaging, environmental, and website.

Longtime Vail local and founder of Beck Building Company, Andy Beck, came to us to help develop their brand. The good news is that our work did not revolve around coming up with unique selling propositions—our job was to attempt to capture their dynamic personalities within the messaging and brand story.

We built the Beck brand, balancing an appropriate level of professionalism with that strong personality, knowing that Beck typically works with an upscale clientele. The award-winning website we created for Beck also spotlighted their terrific testimonials, which is another aspect of their work they felt was central to their brand story. The company brochure we developed, as well as the proposal template, were extensions of that work.

The end result was a clean but dynamic set of marketing tools, which continues to grow and evolve as Beck does the same.

While the Beck experience held much equity, the identity did not. Their identity was viewed as a disconnected piece in the overall experience. Our solution was to create an expression that was as iconic and timeless as the virtues that build character while paving new pathways to new audiences. Beyond a logo, we created a visual language that illuminates the many offerings of the organization...we connected the dots. To accompany the logo, a manifesto was written to capture the voice and promise of the Beck brand. This manifesto is featured prominently on their website, construction vehicles, site signage, and on the walls in their office space.
